It's the End of the World as We Know It. . . .Or is It?

Entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed. Coastal flooding and crop failures would create an exodus of 'eco-refugees,' threatening political chaos.

Does this sound familiar? Isn't this why the Democrats are trying to rush the "Cap and Trade" Climate/Energy Bill through Congress in 2009?

Here's the actual statement: "if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000". . . .this was published in the Miami Herald on the 5th of July, 1989.

Like I tell my kids. . . .every few years a bunch of wackos like to bring up some old wannabe crisis. . . .slap a new bow on it and call it a "New" life-threatening crisis.  i.e. "gas shortages 1970's" "El Nino" "Global Warming" "Y2K" (okay I fell for that one)

This was from Rush Limbaugh's "Stack of Stuff" on Thursday, August 13th, 2009:

You know, yesterday we had the news that the secretary general of the United Nations said we got "four months to save the planet." We have four months. What he means by that is, I think, if they don't get this sweeping socialism done worldwide in four months, the whole world will be clued in on the hoax. They got four months to get this done before the hoax is exposed fully.

But I want to read something to you. "A senior U.N. environmental official says entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000. Coastal flooding and crop failures would create an exodus of 'eco-refugees,' threatening political chaos, said Noel Brown, director of the New York office of the United Nations U.N. Environment Program, or UNEP. He said governments have a 10-year window of opportunity to solve the [problem]." This was published in the Miami Herald on the 5th of July, 1989. So by nine years ago, we were supposed to be underwater here, Snerdley. We were supposed to be swimming with the sharks out there hoping the Gulf Stream would take us north to cooler climes. It is such a hoax.
