Stalin Bust at D-Day Memorial. . . .WTF?

According to Van Helsing at moonbattery.com:

Great news for fans of genocidal communist dictator Joseph Stalin: despite the tens of millions killed by his satanic regime, his bust was in place at the national D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia in time for the anniversary of the Normandy invasion yesterday.

The sculpture was installed at the memorial Tuesday, said William McIntosh, president of the memorial foundation.

Richard Pumphrey, a Lynchburg College professor and artist, finished the piece last year. The bust of the reviled Soviet dictator is part of a series of Allied world leaders who united against Hitler's Germany.

At the beginning of the war, Stalin was Hitler's ally. Why wouldn't he be? Their ideologies were quite similar. The two agreed to carve up Poland between them. But then Hitler betrayed him, forcing Stalin into the anti-Nazi camp.

No doubt your grandchildren will grow up thinking that FDR's "Uncle Joe" was a swell guy for providing free healthcare for anybody obedient enough not to get shipped off to a gulag. The lies his fellow travelers published praising his regime even as he deliberately starved whole regions of the country will once again be accepted as truth. No wonder the execrable New York Times won't give back the Pulitzer Prize (PDF) awarded to Walter Duranty for hushing up the Holodomor.

But maybe the presence of the bust isn't a small step in the rehabilitation of Soviet communism. Maybe they just wanted to honor all the Russian troops who took part in D-Day.

Joseph Stalin quotes:

“Death solves all problems - no man, no problem.”

“A single death is a tragedy, are million deaths is a statistic.”

“When we hang the capitalists they will sell us the rope”

“Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas.”
