ICE chief won't process illegals from Arizona. . . .

ICE chief won't process illegals from Arizona

According to Ed Lasky at americanthinker.com:

In the age of Attorney General Eric Holder - who not only won't pursue the case against the New Black Panther Party, who won't investigate the allegations that Joe Sestak was illegally offered inducements by the Obama administration to drop his primary challenge against Arlen Specter, who won't investigate similar offers made by the Obama team to former Colorado House Speaker Andrew Romanoff to drop his primary challenge to Senator Michael Bennett, who won't investigate ACORN on possible racketeering charges, who has a blase approach towards terrorism and who cannot even utter the words "Islamic terrorism" - should we be surprised that John Morton, who heads U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, proudly declare he won't process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona state officials?

This team is looking at the November elections and realize their refusal to enforce federal laws can reap political payoffs.

From the New York Post's Capitol Punishment blog:

The country's top federal immigration enforcement cop says his agency won't be doing its job . "John Morton, who heads U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said his agency will not necessarily process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona officials. The best way to reduce illegal immigration is through a comprehensive federal approach, not a patchwork of state laws, he said. ‘I don't think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution,' Morton said during a visit to the Chicago Tribune editorial board.

And Morton's opinion is relevant how exactly? Well, it is relevant in the sense that a senior Homeland Security official has openly declared that he won't be doing his job. Morton has sworn an oath to uphold the laws of the United States. He is not allowed to pick and choose which ones he likes and which he doesn't.

Perhaps Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano could do something right for a change and fire this guy.

For this administration, Lady Justice does not wear a blindfold and whether a law is enforced is determined by identity politics and one's level of savings.

Illegal immigrant gets $145G from NYC taxpayers

According to Michael Bearak at digitaljournal.com

An illegal immigrant from Barbados has won a civil lawsuit against the New York City Department of Corrections who was held at Rikers Island for over a month.

Cecil Harvey, 55, an illegal immigrant from Barbados with a long rap sheet for various crimes has now won a lawsuit against New York City, citing that his civil rights were violated when he was detained for more than 48 hours on Rikkers Island after the resolution of his last criminal case.

Federal law allows for suspected illegal immigrants to be held at Rikers Island for a period not to exceed 48 hours, which is designed to allow Immigration and Customs Enforcement a chance to move them to a federal correctional institution and then to go through the deportation cycle. In Harvey's case he was held for over a month before being released. Armed with a civil rights advocacy group, he argued successfully that being held for a month exceeded the Federal allowed time frame of 48 hours.

The court agreed and awarded him $145,000. Harvey a father of three, along with three prior arrests was deported back to Barbados back in October of 2007, but now is much wealthier than when he left at the expense of the New York City tax payers.

The problem is that ICE fails to get these suspected illegal immigrants transferred in time and now the New York City Department of Corrections is having to dump these illegals on the streets and just leave it up to ICE to hunt them down and handle them.

According to one jail supervisor, "We just release them now. It's ICE's problem to go find these guys."

ICE contends that they are always ready to interview and move illegals, as long as they are notified. They could not comment on why Harvey was not moved but contend that they were never notified.

New York City claims that Harvey's was an isolated case.

John Morton should not only be fired for refusing to enforce the laws he took an oath to uphold, but should be prosecuted for aiding and abeting the criminals who brazenly thumb their noses at our immigration laws.

So you see if ICE refuses to pick up the illegals within 48 hours they will HAVE to be released or the taxpayers of Arizona will be the ones who have to pay. . . .It is pathetic that Americans don't only have to fight the illegals but their own freakin' government too.

Maybe Arizona should do as one blogger wrote:

"California has been more than happy to cater to illegal immigrants, so just bus those captured criminals to the California border and dump them."

Or maybe the illegals will get lucky like Obama's Auntie who was ordered deported, refused to leave, lived off the public dole for 10 years and was recently granted legal status. . . .
