Gitmo Detainees Want To Stay Put. . . .

I swear you couldn't make this sh*t up if you tried:

According to Neil Boortz at boortz.com:

I love this. Liberals have been whining for years about the "horrific" conditions of detainees in Gitmo. This is one of the many reasons why they wanted the place closed. So they got their wish from Barack Obama, and if you will recall Obama decided that he is going to transfer Gitmo detainees to a supermax prison in Illinois.

Well now it turns out that the Gitmo detainees don't want to go. A lawyer for many Gitmo detainees says that while his clients clearly want to go home, at least they are being held under Geneva Convention conditions in Gitmo. He says, "As far as our clients are concerned, it's probably preferable for them to remain at Guantánamo." So we may see lawyers of Gitmo detainees set up legal roadblocks to prevent their clients from leaving Gitmo.

Wonder what the moonbats have to say about that?

Tropical breezes, low temps in the 70's, outdoor exercise, they aren't stupid. As opposed to northern Illinois, where winter/spring/fall are basically the same season and the local baseball teams suck most of the time. Okay, maybe the baseball isn't priority with the Gitmoslums.

Terrorist Supporting Group Code Pink. . . .

According to jammiewearingfool.blogspot.com:

Why isn't the FBI rounding up all Code Pinkos members right now. This is beyond the pale, and while they may think it is an expression of their First Amendments rights, they need to be made aware that along with personal rights comes personal responsibility.

Fresh on the heels of their Hamas-protected trip to Gaza, the so-called feminist, American antiwar group Code Pink, co-founded by top Obama funder Jodie Evans, is running banner advertisements on the English language version of the official Web site of a terrorist sympathizing group, the Muslim Brotherhood, one of which invites the Muslim Brotherhood to “join us in cleansing our country.”

The next time these senior citizen, dementia suffering, post menopausal women get arrested in Pakistan they need to be left there to rot.

I wonder if Janet Nincompoop would be interested in putting them on some sort list, besides her Christmas card list?

Bottom line: If you give money to Code Pink you are funding the very people who want to kill you and every day, somewhere around this globe, carry out some sort of act of violence directed at innocent people.

---------------------------------------------------------

These are the same loons that always camped outside President Bush's Ranch in Crawford, TX. They claim to be "Anti-War" but they are nothing but a lot of Anti-American, 60's leftovers, kool aid drinking, can't fit into normal society, terrorist hugging, American hating, attention grabbing, left-out-of society losers. Maybe they do need to smoke a joint and mellow out a little.

Wonder if they camped outside Obama's Hawaiian estate during the Christmas holidays?

These wackos even tried to justifiy the Fort Hood Terrorist Attack, and in any sane person's mind. . . .that terrorist act cannot be justified.

Here's a couple of the "Code Pinkos" need I say more. . . .

Ethics Journalism = Oxymoron

According to www.orlandosentinel.com:

NBC blasted for checkbook journalism on David Goldman story — echoes of Casey Anthony coverage.

NBC’s interview with David Goldman has drawn a scathing review from the Society of Professional Journalists’ Ethics Committee.

The panel says it’s “appalled” because NBC News chartered a plane for Goldman and his son, Sean, to fly from Brazil to the United States. They were reunited after a five-year custody battle, and they arrived in Orlando on Christmas Eve. In paying for the plane, NBC News engaged in “checkbook journalism,” the Ethics Committee says.

The journalists’ group has a code of ethics that urges reporters to refrain from bidding for news.

“The public could rightly assume that NBC News bought exclusive interviews and images, as well as the family’s loyalty, with an extravagant gift,” Ethics Committee Chairman Andy Schotz said.

In a statement, NBC News said: “The Goldmans were invited on a jet NBC News chartered to fly home to the U.S. on Thursday, December 24. NBC News has followed this story since the Goldmans’ story first ran on Dateline nearly one year ago — David Goldman since has appeared on Today seventeen times. NBC News has not and will not pay for an interview.”

With its lavish gesture to the Goldmans, NBC News helped create the news and jeopardized its credibility, the SPJ Ethics Committee said.

“Mixing financial and promotional motives with an impartial search for truth stains honest, ethical reporting,” Schotz said. “Checkbook journalism has no place in the news business.”

The journalists’ group is urging NBC News to show some transparency on the story. Meredith Vieira interviewed David Goldman on “Today” this morning. More of the interview will be seen in a two-hour “Dateline” at 8 p.m. Jan. 8.

From the beginning, NBC News has disclosed that it invited the Goldman family on the flight.

“NBC must now, belatedly, explain why it entangled its news reporting and corporate interests in this story, as well as the terms of any deal it made with the Goldman family,” Schotz said. “NBC also is ethically bound to adequately disclose its active role in the story in each of its future reports on the Goldmans.”

The Ethics Committee critique arrived after it was reported that CNN paid a licensing fee to Jasper Schuringa, the hero of Northwest Flight 253 who subdued a Nigerian man determined to blow up the plane. CNN paid for a cell phone image — and thus landed Schuringa for an exclusive interview.

The Web site Mediaite.com reported,”There’s a reason Schuringa has not appeared any further on CNN or any other network – we hear he has asked for additional payment for any future interviews.”

Many viewers have been appalled by fees that TV news organizations have paid for photographs and footage in the Casey Anthony case. The networks say they are not paying for interviews by paying the fees. But many observers have been infuriated that the Anthony family seems to be profiting from the death of a child, 2-year-old Caylee Anthony.

The Goldman story is an uplifting one, but paying for access is still paying for news. When money changes hands, that gives the appearance of compromising the reporting.

There should be one standard in journalism. No matter if the story is happy or tragic, checkbook journalism is wrong.

------------------------------------------------------------

This article just proves that most people have a price. . . .

This story is small beans compared to the stories that the main stream media like NBC hasn't investigated and reported on. . . .

The bigger story here is how NBC continues to hype the trillion dollar Global Warming hoax when their owner General Electric is one of it's largest profiteers. NBC barely covered Climategate and they have just towed the line for their boss and Obama's buddy, Jeffrey Immelt.

According to www.aim.org:

NBC is owned by General Electric, whose CEO, Jeffrey Immelt, is an advisor to President Obama. Immelt and GE both have vested interests in keeping fears of global warming alive—they see it as good for their business interests.

Where's the ethics police on this?

What about all the bowing down to Obama and NEVER ever reporting or investigating his background? i.e. birth certificate, did a Saudi billionaire pay for Obama's Harvard education? What about all his communist associations?

This is exactly why the Newspapers are going bankrupt. . . .No one wants to read their propraganda "Checkbook Journalism" anymore. . . .

One blogger said:

I’m still waiting for DATELINE NBC to do “TO CATCH A HOAXER” starring Algore and his CLIMATE GATE pals –

PSALM 2009

Obama is the shepherd I did not want.

He leadeth me beside the still factories.

He restoreth my faith in the Republican party.

He guideth me in the path of unemployment for his party's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the bread line,

I shall fear no hunger, for his bailouts are with me.

He has anointed my income with taxes,

My expenses runneth over.

Surely, poverty and hard living will follow me all the days of my life,

And I will live in a mortgaged home forever.

I am glad I am American,

I am glad that I am free.

But I wish I was a dog ......

And Obama was a tree.

Pat Robertson Needs to STHU. . . .

According to Gregory of Yardale at moonbattery.com:

Pat Robertson says the earthquake in Haiti was their punishment for engaging in Devil Worship. Rather than be like those lefties who defend Harry Reid's "Negro" remarks and every stupid utterance of Bill Maher, I'm gonna say, Pat, shut up. You look like a dumbass.

And you might wanna look up Matthew 5:45, while you're at it.

Matthew 5:45 (NIV)

That you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

----------------------------------------------------------

Does Pat Robertson not realize that statements like this makes Christians look cold-hearted, unsympathetic, unkind, unloving and insensitive. This statement was sooooo un-Christ like? If you were not a Christian would hearing a statement like this from a man of God in the midst of a horrible tragedy make you want to accept his Christ?

Even, if his statement is true. . . .is this the time to say something like this when hundreds of thousands are homeless, hungry and/or dead or dying?

God's Love is as great as his Wrath, but you need to speak of his wrath while showing his Love.

Lord, we ask that you pour out your blessings among the people of Haiti. Let them see your Love through the US Military, the Doctors, and all the Volunteers that are risking their own lives to save these hurting people. Show them your Love and Grace through these difficult and desperate times. . . .

. . . . and may you continue to Bless America ! ! ! !

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

According to www.wcg.org:

It is God who changes people’s hearts; it is God who converts the soul, who leads people to repentance, who touches people with love and grace. We can describe God’s amazing love and his astonishing grace and we can set an example of adoration and dedication to our Savior, but after all is said and done, it is God who changes each person’s heart.

Profiling Muslims. . . .

Profiling Muslims at airports? Found this GREAT analogy. . . .

According to Jeflef at sayanythingblog.com

When destroying rabid dogs, the prudent person does not pretend all dogs do not have rabies. To do so, is to risk contracting rabies. The prudent person assumes any dog could have rabies and until that is confirmed, all of the dogs have to be quarantined.

AIG Secrets Revealed. . . .

. . . .in 2018

According to libertyjournal.com:

In a story reported last week, BusinessWeek reported that the current U.S. Treasury Secretary, Tim Geithner, while heading up the New York Federal Reserve Bank, told AIG to not publicly disclose the payout it provided to banks with taxpayer bailout money. . . .

. . . .I think it’s obvious that the banking and moneyed interest in the U.S. designed America’s economic meltdown. As the layers of this onion are peeled back, more corruption is revealed. In a follow-up to this you will see the continued corruption, with the likes of Tim Geithner, the Federal Reserve Bank, the U.S. Treasury. the SEC, and others. As reported on 1/ 12/10, the SEC agreed to allow the details of the AIG bailout/payout to be kept secret until 2018. Talk about covering your ass.

----------------------------------------------------------

2018. . . .Ten more years. . . .WTF?. . . . .What are they trying to hide? Are they waiting for the "Statute of Limitations" to run out? Who got sweetheart deals in this bailout?

The AIG bailout has cost the American Taxpayer over $150 billion. . . .I thought Obama promised to run the most transparent White House in history. . . .

Haitian Quake. . . .

How Much Longer Will America Be Able to Ride to the Rescue?

According to KT McFarland at foxnews.com:

What happens to the Haitis of the world when disaster strikes a decade or so from now?

Haiti has just been devastated by a massive 7.0 earthquake. This morning President Obama expressed his deep condolences and "unwavering support" for the people of Haiti and promised a "swift and coordinated effort.

So what’s next? Once again, America will rush in -- with food aid, with temporary shelters, with emergency services. The American military may even will “invade” temporarily -- with rescue and recovery efforts, water purification facilities, infrastructure rebuilding equipment.

America’s rush to come to the aid of the world’s most disadvantaged nations once disaster strikes is so routine it’s taken for granted -- whether it’s a tsunami in Thailand or an earthquake in Ecuador.

Why?

Because we’re rich? Sure.

Because we’re generous? Sure.

Because we’re the most powerful country in the world? Sure.

But fast forward now to 2020 or so:

- Of every dollar that the American government spends, 50 cents is borrowed.

- The #1 item in the U.S. budget isn't military spending, or health care or social security -- it's debt servicing.

- Every man, woman and child in America owes over $50,000 in government debt – before taking into account their personal debt obligations.

- The largest single holders of American debt will be the Chinese government and the sovereign wealth funds of the Arab oil producing countries.

So what happens to the Haitis of the world when disaster strikes a decade or so from now? One this is for sure -- the first call they make won’t be to the White House.

----------------------------------------------------------

Let's all pray for the victims of the Haitian Quake. . . .These people are the poorest of the poor. . . .What will countries like Haiti do if America isn't there to come to their rescue? It will be heartbreaking and disastrous. . . .

One Giant Step for Socialism. . . .

According to Van Helsing at moonbattery.com:

Hard left Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) is good for something after all. He succinctly sums up what ObamaCare means for the future of this country:

What this bill does is we finally take that step… from healthcare as a privilege to healthcare as an inalienable right of every single American citizen.

Sounds good, doesn't it? Except that if the government can grant you an inalienable right to force someone else to pay for the goods and services you consume, why stop at healthcare? Why not an inalienable right to a nice house? All the groceries you can eat? A new car? Obama has been passing out free money to his slimy cronies by the hundreds of $billions with his bailouts and spending sprees. How about an inalienable right to free money for everyone?

Then there are our real rights, the first of which is the right of property. You have no property rights if the government can seize whatever it wants from you to pay for someone else's healthcare. If you have no property rights, what rights do you have? Essentially none — except for the inalienable right to wait in line for substandard healthcare on someone else's dime.

Welcome to socialism. If it's what we deserve, it's what we will get in place of America.

Here's Glenn Beck's rebuttal to healthcare as a right:

Extravagantly expensive "free" healthcare is the bogus right that threatens every real right we cherish.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Great Ronald Reagan quotes:

"Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem."

"Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them."

"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."

Immigration Reform. . . .Coming Soon. . . .

Some Liberal blogs are saying:

"Pass immigration reform this year to "Fix" our broken economy". . . .

WTF? That's about as dumb as our Vice President saying:

"Let's Spend Our Way Out of Bankruptcy"

or President Obama saying:

"The U.S. must continue to “spend our way out of this recession” as long as so many people are out of work"

Isn't that like eating your way out of obesity?

or as Penn Jillette wrote on cnn.com:

Many dig it when our president explains we're going to spend our way out of debt. That's way against all the intuition we've developed in our adult lives. Spending our way out of debt doesn't work often, does it? It's crazy talk. Didn't a lot of people try that spending out of debt thing?

I live in Vegas, and I see people by the side of the road with cardboard signs who seem like they might have tried that spending their way out of debt thing. Or maybe they tried the all too intuitive "crack will make me feel healthy again" thing. I don't know.

--------------------------------------------------------

This crooked Congress is going to try to ram "Immigration Reform" through the House and Senate before they get voted out of office in November. . . .Once the "illegals" are "legal" they will be able to sign up for Obamacare and will have the same sh*tty insurance along with the rest of us. . . . .Heck as secret as Congress has been recently over Obamacare they might have added them into this bill already. . . .

Obama Replicating Carter Years. . . .

According to rushlimbaugh.com:

There's a piece in the American Thinker today -- might have been yesterday -- that said the Obama administration really ought to fear the misery index. The misery index was the thing that did Carter in, in addition to Carter himself. The misery index calculates unemployment, interest rates, and one other number, I forget what it is right off the bat, but interest rates are artificially low right now from bank to bank or institution to institution. But your credit card interest rate's not, and if you go borrow money for a house that's not zero like the banks are paying each other. Those interest rates are real. The unemployment rate, 17%, actually ten-and-a-half percent if you factor the almost one million people who have given up trying to find a job, one million people. They're not counted in the unemployment numbers. But it's known how many there are because they don't have jobs and they're no longer filing unemployment claims, have either expired or they're not looking for work or what have you. They're totally dispirited.

And, remember, now, these people all thought that George Bush had done this and that was it going to be fixed immediately. We were going to have an America like we had never had before. We were going to be led by this charismatic figure, the world was going to love us, there weren't going to be terrorist attacks anymore. The only reason there were terrorist attacks is the world hated George W. Bush. All of these lies that perpetuated for eight months slowly and surely are being shown to be just that, because liberalism is what it is: it is destructive; it is damaging, and it itself is lies, a series of lies, or it's one giant lie.

----------------------------------------------------------

Misery Index: The Misery Index is the sum of a nation’s unemployment, interest rates, and inflation figures.

The misery index now stands at 12.8%, the highest since 1991 and 3 points above its average since then.

Whichever methodology you use, the misery metric will likely have political implications near-term… U.S. President Barack Obama faces his first midterm congressional elections in November. Their opposition will surely seek to capitalize on voter discomfort with the economy.

That's what happened in 1976 when Jimmy Carter exploited a misery index of around 13% to help defeat Gerald Ford for the Presidency—only to see it rise to more than 20% four years later, costing him the same job. So unless they can cut their current indices, lawmakers could suffer their own form of misery this year: lost elections.

----------------------------------------------------------

Oh. . . .I thought that the "Misery" Index was how the American people feel about this President and Congress, but then again it would be much higher than 12.8% if that was the case. . . . :) :)

Enraging, Annoying: Navy SEALs Trial Moved to Iraq. . . .

According to rushlimbaugh.com:

This is going to annoy you and anger you as much as it did me. "A Navy SEAL accused in the mistreatment of an Iraqi detainee will be tried in a U.S. military court in Iraq. A military judge in Virginia on Monday set the court-martial of Petty Officer 2nd Class Jonathan Keefe for April 6 at Camp Victory, site of the alleged abuse. Keefe and another SEAL are accused of trying to cover up after a third SEAL allegedly punched an Iraqi suspected --" Suspected? This is one of the Al-Qaeda leaders, one of the terrorist leaders. They gave him a bloody lip and all of this is happening because of that. "Prosecutors said they would not bring the detainee to Norfolk to testify. The judge ruled Keefe has the right to face his accuser and moved his trial. Keefe is from Yorktown, Va."

Now, we have a proudly confessed mass murdering terrorist, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed getting a $200 million-a-year civilian trial in New York City, but we cannot have a man brought from Iraq so that these preposterously accused Navy SEALs can confront his terrorist accuser. What is wrong with our judicial system? I know this is the military judicial system we're talking about here, but, for crying out loud, it's one of these things that makes you think everything's upside down or turned 180 degrees out of phase.

WTF?

F for Failure. . . .

Odd how the ability to read a teleprompter without a distinct negro dialect does not translate into mad governing skillz.

"The group, 'African-Americans for Harry Reid,' shouldn't they call it: 'Light-Skinned Negroes Without Dialects for Harry Reid?' Let's be accurate here." . . . .Rush Limbaugh

According to moonbattery.com:

48% of Americans in a CNN poll judge B. Hussein Obama a failure.

Yeah, 10% unemployment (22% real unemployment); America's enemies laughing at us; the complete failure of the counter-terrorism system; endemic corruption in his party that he does nothing about and indeed facilitates; and massive unsustainable deficits do tend to make him look like a failure.

And he's counting on the passage of a health care bill hated by everyone who has actually read it as the trophy prize of his first term.

----------------------------------------------------------

Maha Rushie quotes of the day:

"'Hey, if we don't get health care done it's going to be fifteen years!' Fifteen years? How about never for something like this?"

"I looked at the hot 100 list of liberals today and I think at number 81 is Obama's dog, Bo Obama. Number 78 is Colin Powell, and the media of course tell us he's the quintessential Republican."

"I had not looked at it from the perspective that Obama, by basically exonerating Harry Reid, had essentially thrown dark-skinned Negroes overboard. I appreciate the Official Obama Criticizer Bo Snerdley's perspective on that because I had not looked at it that way."

Bloomberg NYC Attacks Salt, Encourages Heroin. . . .

According to rushlimbaugh.com:

On Monday, the Bloomberg administration plans to unveil a broad new health initiative aimed at encouraging food manufacturers and restaurant chains across the country to curtail the amount of salt in their products." First it was trans fat, smoking, wine, coffee, chocolate. Now it's salt. It's not their business how much salt people eat! But if they're going to pay for health care, ultimately, they're going to make it their business. If salt causes high blood pressure, you're going to have your salt intake monitored. This is the first step. Way to go, electing Democrats!

But here's the rest of the article in the New York Times: "The plan, for which the city claims support from health agencies in other cities and states, sets a goal of reducing the amount of salt in packaged and restaurant food by 25 percent over the next five years. Public health experts say that would reduce the incidence of high blood pressure and should help prevent some of the strokes and heart attacks associated with that condition. The plan is voluntary for food companies and involves no legislation," yet. "It allows companies to cut salt gradually over five years so the change is not so noticeable to consumers. 'We all consume way too much salt, and most of the salt we consume is in the food when we buy it,' said Dr. Thomas Farley, the city health commissioner, whose department is leading the effort. Eighty percent of the salt in Americans' diets comes from packaged or restaurant food. Dr. Farley said reducing salt from those sources would save lives."

Folks, this infuriates me. It's none of their business! It is none of their business how much salt I eat! Salt is necessary! They're going to cause more problems, getting more people frightened to eat any salt, and you have to have it. Now, once they get health care, this is the kind of stuff and even worse that's going to be coming down the pike. This will be the new norm. Everything we do will be in the context of health care and the expense that it will cost to protect us and to cure us and to make us well once we get sick. This is just a harbinger.

Now, I don't know if you know this, but there are brochures that Mayor Bloomberg is distributing in New York City, safety tips when using heroin, brochures on the how-to's of using heroin, including jump up and down before shooting up so that your veins will be more visible. So the New York City mayor sends out brochures to assist people in shooting up heroin, but now is going to cut down or see to it that we cut down on our salt intake. Now something is just wrong with that. "Well, Rush, it's a safety thing, these people are addicted, they're misusing, the mayor is just trying to save people from having overdoses and going to the hospital." Folks, I don't care what excuse you want to offer here. If they're going to pass out brochures telling people how to more safely inject heroin, then have them stop telling the rest of us to cut back on salt. Something is just way out of whack.

---------------------------------------------------------

I have said this numerous times on this blog:

The government creates a new "crisis" with each one they try to "solve".

Here's another perfect example:

When I was going to Medical Office Assistant school I did a report on the importance of "Salt". A lack of salt in the diet causes a serious condition called Cretinism.

Iodine deficiency is the single greatest cause of preventable mental retardation: Severe deficiencies cause cretinism, stillbirth and miscarriage, while even mild deficiency can significantly affect the learning ability of populations. It is easily preventable by ensuring that salt consumed by households is adequately iodized. Yet, 38 million newborns worldwide remain unprotected and there are still 36 countries where fewer than half of households consume iodized salt.

Certain areas of the world, due to natural deficiency and governmental inaction, are severely affected by iodine deficiency, which affects approximately two billion people worldwide. It is particularly common in Western Pacific, South-East Asia and Africa.

India is the most outstanding, with 500 million suffering from deficiency, 54 million from goiter, and two million from cretinism.

Among other nations affected by iodine deficiency, China and Kazakhstan have begun taking action, while Russia has not. Successful campaigns for the adoption of the use of iodized salt require education and regulation of salt producers and sellers and a communication campaign directed at the public, the salt trade, politicians and policy makers. The cost of adding iodine to salt is negligible—"Only a few cents a ton."

*Cretinism is a condition of severely stunted physical and mental growth due to untreated congenital deficiency of thyroid hormones (hypothyroidism) or from prolonged nutritional deficiency of iodine.

How 'bout dem Cowboys!?

Last night the Cowboys defeated the Eagles with the score of 34-14 in the wild card game of the National Football Conference for first playoff win since 1996.
