The key to the control America has over the Internet is through the management of the Domain Name System (DNS) and the giant servers that service the Internet.

Domain names are managed through an entity named IANA, the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority. The IANA, which operates on behalf of the U.S. Department of Commerce, is responsible for the global coordination of the DNS, IP addressing, and other Internet protocol resources.

In short, without an IP Address or other essential Internet protocols, a person or entity would not have access to the Internet.

…within months of Obama's taking office, his administration, through the Department of Commerce, agreed to relinquish some control over IANA and [its] governance. The Obama administration has agreed to give greater representation to foreign companies and countries on IANA.

This amounts to one small step for internationalism and one giant leap for surrendering America's control over an invention we have every right and responsibility to control and manage.

Those who want to tear down America would rather give control of the Internet to the hostile United Nations, which has been pushing phony data down the world's throat via the corrupt IPCC to advance the global warming power grab and would make it a crime to say anything Muslims don't like. To get an idea of whether our UN "partners" would share our commitment to freedom of expression over the Internet, refer to China's recent battle with Google.

For now, Obama and his foreign allies can't do much about it if we go online to criticize Islamic terrorists or observe that global warming is a hoax. Enjoy this state of affairs while you can.

Wow. . . .What a powerful quote. . . .I really needed this today when a friend posted it on facebook.

Trusting God can sometimes be a daily struggle. We all try to believe that the doors will be open, but when you open that wallet and it's empty, or your body is being ravaged with illness it is so hard. When you are on top of the world these thoughts very seldom even enter our minds, but in the times of desperate need you learn to trust in God.

Lord, you know all our needs, wants and desires. I pray you open the doors for all my family and friends whatever their needs. I pray for your blessings physically, mentally and financially.  We don't know what the future holds, but we know that You hold the future. Amen

The lead story at DrudgeReport.com as of 11:30 a.m. this morning was "**REUTERS: Backdoor taxes to hit middle class." But Reuters withdrew the article last night. Drudge noted the change and wrote: "**REUTERS pulls tax story..." then added another link to the top left margin: "Largest-ever federal payroll to hit 2.15 million employees..."

So what happened?

According to a Reuters rep, the was withdrawn "due to significant errors of fact."

"The story was wrong on multiple points and should not have gone out," she emailed us. A formal withdrawal will issued will address specific points that were incorrect later today.

UPDATE: A White House offical told Talking Points Memo that administration aides appealed to Reuters to take it down.

The original link lead clickers to an article posted on Monday, Feb. 1 at 4:09 p.m. which reads, in part:

While the administration is focusing its proposal on eliminating tax breaks for individuals who earn $250,000 a year or more, middle-class families will face a slew of these backdoor increases.

Millions of middle-class households already may be facing higher taxes in 2010 because Congress has failed to extend tax breaks that expired on January 1, most notably a "patch" that limited the impact of the alternative minimum tax. The AMT, initially designed to prevent the very rich from avoiding income taxes, was never indexed for inflation. But I gotta tell you something: It's a good thing this guy put it in there. Does anybody seriously believe...? I mean, I know a lot of you believe in Creation and a lot of you believe in "intelligent design." I happen to, and I happen to think that we are nothing, intellectually, compared to the Creator, to God-d. I simply cannot accept the fact that we would be created to do things that would destroy our own environment, life-sustaining environment. The idea that carbon dioxide, which we exhale -- and which, by the way, the more of it the better for trees and plant life. The more of that, the better for them, and that in turn gives us even more oxygen. Everybody is worried about global warming de-forestating the country and the world? The more CO2, the more the jungle loves it, the more your yard loves it, the more your garden loves it.

Canada’s Premier Williams Set To Have Heart Surgery In U.S. . . .

Premier Danny Williams will undergo heart surgery later this week in the United States.

Deputy premier Kathy Dunderdale confirmed the treatment at a news conference Tuesday, but would not reveal the location of the operation or how it would be paid for.

“He has gone to a renowned expert in the procedure that he needs to have done,” said Ms. Dunderdale, who will become acting premier while Mr. Williams is away for three to 12 weeks.

“In consultation with his own doctors, he’s decided to go that route.”

Mr. Williams’ decision to leave Canada for the surgery has raised eyebrows over his apparent shunning of Canada’s health-care system.

“It was never an option offered to him to have this procedure done in this province,” said Ms. Dunderdale, refusing to answer whether the procedure could be done elsewhere in Canada.

The intensely cold weather afflicting Britain underscores the increasingly obvious fact that global warming is not real, so it's only fitting that it also confirms that the proposed solution to the imaginary crisis — green energy — isn't real either:

The cold weather has been accompanied by high pressure and a lack of wind, which meant that only 0.2pc of a possible 5pc of the UK's energy was generated by wind turbines over the last few days.

Jeremy Nicholson, director of the Energy Intensive Users Group (EIUG), gave warning that this could turn into a crisis when the UK is reliant on 6,400 turbines accounting for a quarter of all UK electricity demand over the next 10 years.

He said the shortfall in power generated by wind during cold snaps seriously undermined the Government's pledge on Friday to build nine major new wind "super farms" by 2020.

"If we had this 30 gigawatts of wind power, it wouldn't have contributed anything of any significance this winter," he said. "The current cold snap is a warning that our power generation and gas supplies are under strain and it is getting worse."

Coal stations are currently used as back-up generation when there is a surge in demand for gas and the wind does not blow — which both tend to happen during cold weather.

However, increased dependence on wind farms will coincide with a European Union directive shutting down Britain's dirtiest coal and oil fired power stations.

The UK has committed to switching off these stations by 2015, leaving it uniquely vulnerable to gas shortages and the intermittency of wind farms.

It appears that this is all costing the American taxpayer millions of dollars, especially since Queen Palousy is only reimbursing the government for the flights at a bare minimum:

Military flights cost between $5-$20 thousand dollars per hour to operate. Pelosi only reimburses the government between $120-$400 per flight. You and I pick up the rest of the tab with our tax dollars.

It's all perfectly legal, of course - or is it? Even if it is, perhaps we should start asking why a politician's children and grandchildren should have their travel subsidized at taxpayer expense?

Not only is this a violation of her oath to run the most uncorrupt Congress in the history of the universe. It is a slap in the face of every American who is footing the bill. What's more, San Fran Grand Nan and her husband are multi-millionaires several times over -- and yet she still prefers to suck the coffers of government dry and ask Joe and Jane Average to cough up yet more in taxes to cover it.

Last week I was under the weather with the flu, but I am feeling great now and ready to start blogging again. . . .

Didn't even watch too much news and hardly got on the computer last week, so I am playing catch up this week. . . .I did watch some of the commentary on President Obama's State of the Union address to the nation. All I learned was he was nothing but condescending to the Republicans and Supreme Court Justices and is spending our nation into debt with a new 3.83 TRILLION dollar budget that was released today.

Looks like Jimmy Carter may lose the title of the worse President in American History. . . .

ER Doctor Tells It Like It Really Is. . . .

Dear Mr. President:

During my shift in the Emergency Room last night, I had the pleasure of evaluating a patient whose smile revealed an expensive shiny gold tooth, whose body was adorned with a wide assortment of elaborate and costly tattoos, who wore a very expensive brand of tennis shoes and who chatted on a new cellular telephone equipped with a popular R&B ringtone.

While glancing over her patient chart, I happened to notice that her payer status was listed as "Medicaid"! During my examination of her, the patient informed me that she smokes more than one costly pack of cigarettes every day and somehow still has money to buy pretzels and beer.

And, you and our Congress expect me to pay for this woman's health care? I contend that our nation's "health care crisis" is not the result of a shortage of quality hospitals, doctors or nurses. Rather, it is the result of a "crisis of culture", a culture in which it is perfectly acceptable to spend money on luxuries and vices while refusing to take care of one's self or, heaven forbid, purchase health insurance. It is a culture based in the irresponsible credo that "I can do whatever I want to because someone else will always take care of me".

Once you fix this "culture crisis" that rewards irresponsibility and dependency, you'll be amazed at how quickly our nation's health care difficulties will disappear.
