Mexico Issues Travel Advisory Regarding Arizona Law. . . .

According to thebsreport.wordpress.com:

Mexico Issues Travel Advisory Regarding Arizona Law. . . .

Some people are going nuts because Arizona is actually attempting to enforce their laws which are very fair and measured. Do you think Mexico (or any other place) will let you illegally enter their country, raise a family and collect taxpayer-paid benefits? No, don’t even think about it. You may even end up in jail before you’re finally deported.

What is immoral here is the total abandonment of the American people by our federal government that absolutely refuses to defend our country’s borders. And then they have the gall to attack those who will. They are truly a disgrace.

Oh my God, they're being forced to show their ID, it's like Nazi Germany--or a video rental place...

---------------------------------------

Has the world gone completely NUTS ! ! ! ! Mexico has the gall to issue a travel advisory to Arizona. . . .People are being murdered by the thousands south of the border. Decapitations with machetes are common and they have the nerve to issue a travel warning to Arizona . . . .

Get beheaded in Mexico or have to produce the proper paperwork when stopped by the police in Arizona. . . . .This isn't even like comparing apples to oranges. . . .it’s more like comparing watermelons to plums. WTF?

Texas Gov: Arizona Immigration Law 'Not Right' for Texas. . . .WTF?

According to foxnews.com:

Gov. Rick Perry said in a statement: "I have concerns with portions of the law passed in Arizona and believe it would not be the right direction for Texas."

AUSTIN, Texas -- Arizona's tough new illegal immigration enforcement law would not be right for Texas, Gov. Rick Perry said Thursday, upholding the state's long-held tradition of rejecting harsh anti-immigrant policies.

The Arizona law will require local and state law enforcement officers to question people about their immigration status if there's reason to suspect they're in the country illegally, making it a crime for them to lack registration documents. The law also makes it a state crime to be in the U.S. illegally.

"I fully recognize and support a state's right and obligation to protect its citizens, but I have concerns with portions of the law passed in Arizona and believe it would not be the right direction for Texas," Perry said in a written statement.

"For example, some aspects of the law turn law enforcement officers into immigration officials by requiring them to determine immigration status during any lawful contact with a suspected alien, taking them away from their existing law enforcement duties, which are critical to keeping citizens safe."

The Arizona law has been hailed by conservatives as long overdue and two Texas lawmakers have said they'll introduce similar immigration measures when the Texas Legislature meets next.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told a U.S. Senate hearing Tuesday that a Justice Department review is under way to determine the Arizona law's constitutionality.

Though Texas is ruled by conservative Republicans, top GOP leaders from former Texas Gov. George W. Bush to Perry have rejected harsh and punitive immigration policies.

Bush continued his moderate approach to immigration once he got to the White House, often to the dismay of his conservative base.

"We need to uphold the great tradition of the melting pot that welcomes and assimilates new arrivals," Bush said in his 2007 State of the Union address. "We need to resolve the status of the immigrants that are already in our country without animosity and without amnesty."

Perry took heat during this year's Republican primary for backing in-state tuition for illegal immigrants, saying in a debate that the students are on a path to citizenship.

"Texas has a rich history with Mexico, our largest trading partner, and we share more than 1,200 miles of border, more than any other state," Perry said Thursday. "As the debate on immigration reform intensifies, the focus must remain on border security and the federal government's failure to adequately protect our borders.

"Securing our border is a federal responsibility, but it is a Texas problem, and it must be addressed before comprehensive immigration reform is discussed."

----------------------------------------------

"Texas has a rich history with Mexico" well heck yea. . . .Remember the Alamo ! ! ! ! This is going to hurt Governor Perry in the November election. Perry's democratic opponent in the Governor's race was the former Mayor of Houston which is a sactuary city for illegals. Well it looks like we have nobody that will be tough on all the illegals that will soon be crossing from Arizona into our great State of Texas.

Even Brave Achilles Cannot Save Greece Now. . . .

According to The MaryHunter at moonbattery.com:

The worst drops in several months for the Dow, NASDAQ and stock markets worldwide came in the wake of this news: pathetic little Greece has had its debt downgraded to junk status, its credit rating tossed into the wine dark sea.

The junk rating, unusual for a developed nation, deepened fears that big fiscal deficits and debt burdens elsewhere could threaten the economic recovery in Europe. Stock markets on both sides of the Atlantic tumbled about 2 percent or more after the downgrade by Standard & Poor's.

Many sympathetic with Greece's plight will just blame the Germans, but there's no one to blame but the Greeks themselves and their progressive-socialist ways.

While the immediate fear is driven by Germany's grudging attitude toward bailing out Greece, some economists think Greece's growth prospects are so weak the government won't … collect enough taxes to be able to pay its bills years down the road. Worsening the country's plight is rising yields, which Monday neared double digits. The country's finance minister called current rates for raising funds "prohibitive."

There will be no rosy fingers of dawn to greet a Greek economic resurrection anytime soon. With the Democrats' insane deficit spending and debt-to-GDP percentages rising to historic levels, can we be too far behind? We think not, with the Obama regime and the Demonrats in charge.

The Associated Press Yesterday

Spain downgraded, Europe debt crisis widens

. . . .But the downgrade for Spain and a lack of clarity about how much money Greece will really need unsettled investors again -- the IMF's managing director Dominique Strauss-Kahn would not confirm reports he had told German parliamentary deputies that Greece would need euro120 billion over several years.

A lot is at stake -- some say that the very future of the euro project hangs in the balance. At the very least, a Greek debt default that could also tear holes in the balance sheets of European banks holding Greek bonds.

More broadly, growing worries about shaky government finances in Europe could force indebted governments to pay more and more of their budgets to cover interest costs, crimping spending and stimulus for the economy and pushing them to increase taxes. That could make it harder for Europe to maintain its shaky economic recovery.

Once again though, the main actors in the Greek debt drama failed to provide complete clarity -- until that emerges the markets could well suffer further turmoil.

The Greeks fudged their way into the EU to begin with. They've been getting Billions each and every year to "improve" their infrastructure". Most of them don't even pay taxes, or if they do they pay a pittance because everyone bribes one another there. Try bribing your local IRS agent here!

Then they go into retirement at age 50 at FULL pension 14x a year.

They have a HUGE government worker segment, most of whom are no-shows.

Now they are going to blame the rest of the [still] solvent EU countries to pay for all this?

Germans retire at age 67 at less than 100% pension.

Of course they're not going to be too excited about paying for the Dolce Vita the Greeks are living in the Agean.

Greece is to Germany what Mexico is to the United States.

Oh, and what do the Greeks do in response to all this: The go on general strike and call the Germans, who've been footing their bills for decades, Nazis.

Sound familiar?

Germany isn't going to be able to bail out anyone. It's a massively unpopular idea with German citizens, it's unconstitutional, and elections are coming up May 9th IIRC.

No way. Greece is toast. Followed by Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, and Ireland in no particular order. But at that point, who really cares? The giant sucking sound you'll hear will be the bond market imploding.

Illegal Immigrants Threaten To Leave Arizona Over New Law. . . .

According to Rob Port at sayanythingblog.com:

Illegal Immigrants Threaten To Leave Arizona Over New Law. . . .

Oh no!

Many of the cars that once stopped in the Home Depot parking lot to pick up day laborers to hang drywall or do landscaping now just drive on by.

Arizona’s sweeping immigration bill allows police to arrest illegal immigrant day laborers seeking work on the street or anyone trying to hire them. It won’t take effect until summer but it is already having an effect on the state’s underground economy.

“Nobody wants to pick us up,” Julio Loyola Diaz says in Spanish as he and dozens of other men wait under the shade of palo verde trees and lean against a low brick wall outside the east Phoenix home improvement store.

Many day laborers like Diaz say they will leave Arizona because of the law, which also makes it a state crime to be in the U.S. illegally and directs police to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they are illegal immigrants.

Supporters of the law hope it creates jobs for thousands of Americans.

“We want to drive day labor away,” says Republican Rep. John Kavanagh, one of the law’s sponsors.

An estimated 100,000 illegal immigrants have left Arizona in the past two years as it cracked down on illegal immigration and its economy was especially hard hit by the Great Recession.

Does someone want to explain the down side in this for me?

House Approves Puerto Rico Statehood Measure. . . .

According to John Brandt and Chad Pergram at foxnews.com:

House Approves Puerto Rico Statehood Measure. . . .

The House voted Thursday to allow Puerto Ricans to change the island’s commonwealth status, in what critics are saying is a backdoor attempt to force Puerto Ricans into choosing U.S. statehood -- something Puerto Rican voters already have rejected three times.

The bill, which passed 223-169 and now must be taken up by the Senate, would introduce a two-step ballot measure for Puerto Rico to decide if its residents want to change their current relationship with the United States. If they vote to change their status, they can then choose to become a state, pursue independence, or seek some other "political association between sovereign nations."

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, said that while Puerto Rico doesn't need congressional authorization to hold such a nonbinding vote, the bill could be a game-changer -- part of a plan, he said, to give the island's progressive activists "legitimacy" in a push toward statehood. Chaffetz suggested it was part of an effort to bring more Democrats into Congress.

"That's what some of us who understand this bill are so just frightened about," Chaffetz told radio and Fox News host Glenn Beck. "The majority of people in Puerto Rico don't even necessarily want this."

Puerto Rico became a U.S. territory at the end of the Spanish-American War. Those born on the island were granted U.S. citizenship in 1917 and Puerto Rico gained commonwealth status in 1952.

Today, Puerto Ricans serve in the military but can't vote in presidential elections. They do not pay federal income tax on income earned on the island.

Proponents of the new measure say it gives citizens of the island the right to self-determination.‬‪ ‬‪Thursday's action was nonbinding, and if Puerto Ricans eventually select statehood, Congress would still have to vote to admit the island to the union as the 51st state.‬‪ ‬‪

The issue divided Democrats and Republicans alike as liberal Democrats with ties to Puerto Rico teamed with conservative Republicans to oppose the measure.

Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill., whose parents were born in Puerto Rico and who represents part of Chicago, slammed the bill on the House floor Thursday morning, calling it a device to "impose" statehood on residents who have repeatedly rejected the idea.

"Really it's designed to get one thing and one thing only, and that is to have the people of Puerto Rico accept statehood for themselves," he said. "Why don't we accept their wishes? … It's spelled the same in English as in Spanish: N-O. No. No."

The divides were particularly stark among members of the House Republican leadership team. House Minority Leader John Boehner,R-Ohio, voted against the legislation. Meantime, House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, R-Va., and Republican Conference Chairman Mike Pence, R-Ind., voted in favor.

Puerto Rico Gov. Luis Fortuno (R) cobbled together more than 50 Republican sponsors in favor of the package.

But there was drama as the majority Democrats narrowly avoided an upset on the House floor.

Republicans attempted to add provisions to the legislation that would have made English the official language of a potential Puerto Rican state.

Republicans also tried to modify the bill by banning any infringement of the Second Amendment in Puerto Rico.

The Democratic majority defeated the GOP effort, 198-194.

----------------------------------------

HR 2499, Puerto Rico, and the possiblility of a 51st State:

* The U.S. would transform, overnight, into a bilingual nation. At least half of Puerto Ricans do not speak English, the language of our U.S. Constitution and founding documents.

* It would bring immediate demands for massive federal spending. The average income of Puerto Ricans is less than half that of our poorest state, and infrastructure and the environment are far below American standards. Puerto Rico has a population with a median national income of $17,741, nearly a third of that for the U.S.

* Puerto Rico is already a democracy. Despite the bill’s deceptive title, Puerto Rico already has an elected government and exists as a self-governed commonwealth of the U.S.

* Statehood would give Puerto Rico more congressional representation than 25 of our 50 states! It would inevitably give Democrats two additional U.S. Senators and 6 to 8 additional Members of the House.

---------------------------------------

This "Puerto Rico State" issue and the so called "Immigration Reform Bill" is only about getting millions of votes for the democrats. These issues will totally change the dynamics of the election process in our great nation and unfortunately not for the better.

Regime SWAT Teams Sent to Gulf. . . WTF?

. . . .RUSH: Now, here's the regime kicking into action here on the Gulf oil well or the rig explosion, President Obama mere moments ago in the Rose Garden before presenting the teacher of the year award.

OBAMA: I do want to speak briefly to the American people about the recent BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Earlier today DHS Secretary Napolitano announced that this incident is of national significance and the Department of Interior has announced that they will be sending SWAT teams to the Gulf to inspect all platforms and rigs and I have ordered the secretaries of interior and Homeland Security as well as administrator Lisa Jackson of the Environmental Protection Agency to visit the site on Friday to ensure that BP and the entire US government is doing everything possible not just to respond to this incident but also to determine its cause.

RUSH: Wow. All right, so SWAT teams, we're sending big sis down there, Janet Napolitano, to look at all the valves and stuff, make sure they're properly greased. He-he-he-he. Ahem. And Lisa Jackson is doing the same thing. So obviously the regime is open to the idea that this is not an accident. The regime is open to the possibility that this could well have been on purpose. Don't forget, the original Earth Day, 40 years ago, was inspired by the river in Cleveland catching fire. Forty years later, the day before Earth Day this year, the Gulf is on fire. Coincidence? Jury's still out. The regime is on the case, soon to tell us what happened.

RUSH: I want to get back to the timing of the blowing up, the explosion out there in the Gulf of Mexico of this oil rig. Since they're sending SWAT teams down there now this changes the whole perspective of this. Now, lest we forget, ladies and gentlemen, the carbon tax bill, cap and trade that was scheduled to be announced on Earth Day. I remember that. And then it was postponed for a couple of days later after Earth Day, and then of course immigration has now moved in front of it. But this bill, the cap-and-trade bill, was strongly criticized by hardcore environmentalist wackos because it supposedly allowed more offshore drilling and nuclear plants, nuclear plant investment. So, since they're sending SWAT teams down there, folks, since they're sending SWAT teams to inspect the other rigs, what better way to head off more oil drilling, nuclear plants, than by blowing up a rig? I'm just noting the timing here.

From The Hill, about the Senate bill: "Sierra Club chief Michael Brune told The Hill’s E2 Wire: 'We will go to the mat for defending Clean Air Act authority.' Brune also pointed to another potential stumbling block: offshore drilling. 'We will not be able to accept the dramatic giveaway that offshore oil drilling represents,' he said." The five hurdles the climate bill must clear, and one of them is offshore drilling. That's in TheHill.com. . . .

-------------------------------------

According to Stephen Power and Guy Chanzan at the wsj.com:

. . . .The government called in the Navy to help contain the huge oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, as administration officials said Thursday the disaster could prompt President Barack Obama to rethink his plan to allow expanded offshore oil and gas drilling. . . . .

. . . .Asked whether the spill could prompt calls for a moratorium on drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, he said: "I'm certain some people are thinking that might be necessary."

Such a move would pinch global oil supplies. It would also be a blow to BP, the largest oil producer in the Gulf, with output of more than 400,000 barrels a day. BP has been a driving force behind exploration in the deepwater part of the Gulf and has made several huge oil finds there in recent years. . . . .

-------------------------------------

Could the oil rig explosion be eco-terrorism and the government is attempting to cover it up? Why are they sending SWAT teams which is a police enforcement unit to inspect oil rigs in the gulf? I've never heard of a SWAT team being sent to a crashed airliner. . . .They always sent avaition experts. BTW why did it take 8 full days for Obama to take direct action on the oil leak in the Gulf? Couldn't they have started several days ago to retain the spill and start burning it off? Will this explosion stop all the drill here drill now and decrease our oil supply, which will cause gas prices to skyrocket.

Mayor Bloomberg, Hypocrite ! ! ! !

According to Rush Limbaugh:

RUSH: Mayor Bloomberg in New York "slams the Arizona anti-immigration law. 'We are committing national suicide,' he said. A fired-up Mayor Bloomberg warned that the US is committing national security suicide by passing the buck on implementing comprehensive immigration reform. Bloomberg delivered the blunt message yesterday as he criticized Arizona's harsh new anti-immigrant law. 'This is not good for the country. I don't agree with it. We love immigrants here.'" Well, take 'em! Do you remember, folks -- I've got this somewhere buried in the stack -- a couple years ago, Bloomberg was paying the homeless with one-way tickets to leave to cities all over the world?

They were putting too much of a strain on the shelter system in New York, so homeless people were being offered one-way tickets out of the city -- and those were citizens. We think they were. They were homeless New Yorkers and the mayor who thinks we're committing suicide gets them out of town, "Aaaaah, too big a stress on our system here and our shelters. "This country is committing national suicide." Arizona's not doing it. Arizona is not the reason we're committing national suicide, Mr. Mayor. If we are committing national suicide as it relates to this issue, it's because the federal government is not enforcing its own laws, and the federal government has no intention of enforcing its own laws.

RUSH: There's that AP story where he had earlier, they're just outraged, they were they're outraged that these illegally aliens are leaving Arizona.

Listen to this. "An estimated 100,000 illegal immigrants have left Arizona in the past two years as it cracked down on illegal immigration and its economy was especially hard hit by the Great Recession." So, everybody's outraged by this, and they're lying about what's happened. The law in Arizona is actually acting as its own deportation instrument, at least from Arizona. Now, here's that story from New York, and it's not three years ago. It's last year, July 29, 2009. "They are flown to Paris for 6,000 bucks, Orlando for $859, Johannesburg for $2500, or most frequently San Juan. They're not executives on business trips or couples on honeymoons. Rather, they are families who have ended up homeless, and all the plane tickets are courtesy of the City of New York, and they are one-way. The Bloomberg administration, which has struggled with the seemingly intractable problem of homelessness for years, has paid for more than 550 families to leave the city since 2007," and yet he says we're committing "national suicide" with the Arizona law.

He said, "We had to kick 'em out of the city of New York because we have to keep 'em out of our expensive shelter system." It costs $36,000 a year per family to keep them in the shelter system, so it's cheaper to send them a one-way plane ticket anywhere else. "All it takes is for a relative elsewhere to agree to take the family in." That's all it takes. By the way, you're not hearing much about this, but there's going to be a vote pretty soon on Puerto Rico becoming the 51st state. (interruption) Well, did they have the vote this morning? (interruption) They're voting now on it. Well, there are not too many reporting it. I've only seen it on Fox and one other blog. "Is this not the height of hypocrisy, though? "We're committing national suicide," Bloomberg says. "This is horrible," and he's kicking people out of the city and paying for them to go. It's the same premise: They can't sustain paying for people who are not producing anything.

RUSH: Here's the mayor of New York, by the way, ladies and gentlemen, yesterday in New York City.

BLOOMBERG: If other states adopt this it's very bad for the country. If they're the only ones, it's good for New York because people will come here. We make sure that we protect everybody, and we want anybody that, if they need medical care, to get it. This is a very bad law.

RUSH: Right. Okay, so the governor of Arizona can now ship them to not only San Francisco, but to New York. While he's kicking the homeless out, he's welcoming illegal immigrants into town and promising them medical care, in New York City. Hubba hubba.

Puerto Rico the 51st State? WTF?

According to Robert Moon at the examiner.com:

Democrats rushing through Puerto Rico power grab

Quietly sailing through the House this week is yet another piece of partisan stealth legislation aimed at manufacturing more Democrat power at the expense of the American people, the economy and the country.

This time, it's the Puerto Rico Democracy Act (H.R. 2499). It would force Puerto Rico to vote on U.S. statehood and is designed to stack the deck in favor of statehood, going even as far as to require the territory to vote every eight years until statehood is accepted.

Not only is Puerto Rico already a fully-functioning democracy, but it has also repeatedly rejected attempts to turn it into a U.S. state, for decades.

But still, desperate to create new Democrat voters and elected officials, the left is now aggressively setting the stage for the creation of a 51st state.

Due to its dense population of poverty-stricken minorities, Puerto Rico can be counted on to vote overwhelmingly for Democrats and all their handouts, and their representation will also consequently outnumber that of 25 other existing U.S. states.

Meanwhile, with Puerto Ricans having an average income of less than half that of our poorest state, they will instantly become eligible for dozens of our welfare programs. Truckloads of taxpayer dollars will also have to be perpetually dumped into the territory, by federal law, to bring it up to American infrastructure and environmental standards.

This will also force the U.S. to become a bi-lingual country overnight, which will produce a whole new set of problems.

Killjoy California Buzzards Want to Ban Happy Meal Toys. . . .WTF?

According to jammiewearingfool.blogspot.com:

To borrow one of the left's most cherished cliches: How mean-spirited! So under the guise of "protecting the children" they'll just create a bunch of unhappy ones.

How special.

The latest target in the battle over fast food is something you shouldn't even put in your mouth.

Convinced that Happy Meals and other food promotions aimed at children could make kids fat as well as happy, county officials in Silicon Valley are poised to outlaw the little toys that often come with high-calorie offerings.

The proposed ban is the latest in a growing string of efforts to change the types of foods aimed at youngsters and the way they are cooked and sold. Across the nation, cities, states and school boards have taken aim at excessive sugar, salt and certain types of fats.

Believed to be the first of its kind in the nation, the proposal would forbid the inclusion of a toy in any restaurant meal that has more than 485 calories, more than 600 mg of salt or high amounts of sugar or fat. In the case of McDonald's, the limits would include all of the chain's Happy Meals — even those that include apple sticks instead of French fries.

Supporters say the ban would encourage restaurants to offer more-nutritious foods to kids and would make unhealthful items less appealing. But opponents believe it amounts to government meddling in parental decisions. The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors will consider the proposal Tuesday.

Even though it's largely symbolic — the proposed ban would apply only to the dozen fast-food restaurants within the jurisdiction of the board — the proposal has caused a bit of an uproar on the Internet, where comments on YouTube and other sites say it is another example of the "nanny state" gone wild.

No kidding. What a bunch of miserable cretins.

The California Restaurant Assn. has taken out full-page newspaper advertisements against the proposed ordinance in local newspapers. One shows a little girl with her hands cuffed behind her back as she holds a stuffed animal.

Another opponent wrote in a YouTube posting, "I want to know when the pitchforks and torches and rope is going to come out.... We need to run these Frankenstein politician monsters the hell out of town!"

The War on Agriculture Continues

According to Gregory of Yardale at moonbattery.com

For the sake of a two-inch fish called the Delta Smelt, California's Eco-hippies have turned the Central Valley… where 40% of America's food was once produced… into a dust bowl.

Not satisfied with 40% unemployment in Central Valley towns, California's Eco-hippies are now targeting the ranching industry. The hippies are upset because the "pristine" water in the places they like to backpack contains tiny amounts of cow poopy.

Their proposal is to ban cattle ranching in the Sierras, and convert current cattle grazing lands into national parks.

"At one time, cattle were important for developing civilization here," said Derlet. "But now, with 40 million people in California, the Sierra is not for cattle. It's for water. We need water more than Big Macs."

I guess it never occurred to the hippies that bears and elk also crap in their precious water.

Oh no, he's going to boycott Arizona! Well, pal, boycotts can be a two-way road. Considering your country is pretty much on the brink of collapse, you aren't quite in position to be dictating what we do in our country.

If Calderon is busy with boycotts, maybe it'll occur to him millions of Americans won't be visiting Mexico any time soon since they're afraid of drug gangs beheading them.

----------------------------------------

According to the sbsun.com:

Mexico treats illegal immigrants in its midst harshly

Americans traveling into Mexico must get a Mexico tourist card, also called an FMT, it is a government form declaring that you have stated the purpose of your visit to Mexico to be tourism, and it MUST be carried with you at all times while you are visiting Mexico.

It is a felony to be an illegal immigrant in Mexico and they allow local police to aid immigration authorities in making arrests.

After all, if a group of illegal immigrants living south of the border took to the streets in a similar protest, they'd be breaking Mexican law. There, the constitution bars noncitizens from participating in any public political demonstration.

For most of the illegal immigrants who cross Mexico's southern border, deportation or other legal penalties are the least of their worries. Migrants routinely face rape, robbery and assault. Corrupt police and soldiers are known to abuse them and take their money.

Obama’s Budget Director: Powerful Rationing Panel (Not Doctors) Will Control Health Care Levels

IT’S ALL A DEATH PANEL: THE TRUTH ABOUT OBAMACARE

by Dick Morris (August 2009)

. . . .In assessing whether to allow certain treatments to a given patient, medical professionals will be encouraged to apply the Quality-Adjusted Remaining Years system. Under QARY, decision-makers seek to “amortize” the cost of treatment over the remaining “quality years of life” likely for that patient.

Imagine a hip replacement costing $100,000 and the 75-year-old who needs it, a diabetic with a heart condition deemed to have just three “quality” years left. That works out to $33,333 a year — too steep! Surgery disallowed! (Unless of course, the patient has political connections . . . )

Younger, healthier patients would still get the surgery, of course. The QARY system simply aims to deny health care to the oldest and most infirm, “scientifically” condemning them to infirmity, pain and earlier death than would otherwise be their fate.

-------------------------------------

Back in August 2009 I posted an article concerning the QALY or as Dick Morris calls it QARY - Quality-Adjusted Remaining Years. Looks like the truth is finally surfacing concerning "Death Panels".

QALY - Quality-Adjusted Life Year - it's an acronym you are going to learn to hate in the coming years since Obamacare has passed. . . .It is a code word for extreme "rationing". Costly medical treatment will only be given to you when your life expectancy and usefulness exceeds the cost of the treatment.

Would you have ever imagined that your life would boil down to being just a formula in a calculation set by the government?

Bad Day at Hallmark. . . .

Ever wondered what happens when Hallmark writers have a bad day?

My tire was thumping.
I thought it was flat
When I looked at the tire...
I noticed your cat.

Heard your wife left you,
How upset you must be.
But don't fret about it...
She moved in with me.

Looking back over the years
that we've been together,
I can't help but wonder...
'What the hell was I thinking?'

Congratulations on your wedding day!
Too bad no one likes your husband.

How could two people as beautiful as you
Have such an ugly baby?

I've always wanted to have
someone to hold,
someone to love.
After having met you ..
I've changed my mind.

I must admit, you brought Religion into my life.
I never believed in Hell until I met you.

As the days go by, I think of how lucky I am...
That you're not here to ruin it for me.

Congratulations on your promotion.
Before you go...
Would you like to take this knife out of my back?
You'll probably need it again.

Happy Birthday, Uncle Dad!
(Available only in Tennessee , Kentucky & West Virginia )

Happy birthday! You look great for your age.
Almost Lifelike!

When we were together,
you always said you'd die for me.
Now that we've broken up,
I think it's time you kept your promise.

We have been friends for a very long time .
let's say we stop?

I'm so miserable without you
it's almost like you're here.

Congratulations on your new bundle of joy.
Did you ever find out who the father was?

Your friends and I wanted to do
something special for your birthday.
So we're having you put to sleep.

So your daughter's a hooker,
and it spoiled your day.
Look at the bright side,
it's really good pay

Noah's Ark, Rebuilt to Scale. . . .

Received in an email. . . .This is Amazing ! ! ! !

Working Replica of Noah's Ark Opened In SCHAGEN, Netherlands. . . .

Man Builds Noah's Ark to the exact scale given in the Bible

The massive central door in the side of Noah's Ark was opened the first crowd of curious townsfolk to behold the wonder. This replica of the biblical Ark was built by Dutch Creationist Johan Huibers as a testament to his faith in the literal truth of the Bible.

The ark is 150 cubits long, 30 cubits high and 20 cubits wide. That's two-thirds the length of a football field and as high as a three-story house.

Life-sized models of giraffes, elephants, lions, crocodiles, zebras, bison and other animals greet visitors as they arrive in the main hold.

A contractor by trade, Huibers built the ark of cedar and pine. Biblical Scholars debate exactly what the wood used by Noah would have been.

Huibers did the work mostly with his own hands, using modern tools and with occasional help from his son Roy. Construction began in May 2005. On the uncovered top deck - not quite ready in time for the opening - will come a petting zoo, with baby lambs and chickens, and goats, and one camel.

Visitors on the first day were stunned. 'It's past comprehension', said Mary Louise Starosciak, who happened to be bicycling by with her husband while on vacation when they saw the ark looming over the local landscape.

'I knew the story of Noah, but I had no idea the boat would have been so big ' There is enough space near the keel for a 50-seat film theater where kids can watch a video that tells the story of Noah and his ark. Huibers, a Christian man, said he hopes the project will renew interest in Christianity in the Netherlands, where church going has fallen dramatically in the past 50 years.

Now that I am old and gray...give me the time to tell this new generation (and their children too) about all your mighty miracles. ~ Psalm 71:18

Maxine on Taking Down The Birdfeeder. . . .

(Received in an email. . . .enjoy)

I bought a bird feeder. I hung
It on my back porch and filled
It with seed. What a beauty of
A bird feeder it was, as I filled it
lovingly with seed. Within a
Week we had hundreds of birds
Taking advantage of the
Continuous flow of free and
Easily accessible food.

But then the birds started
Building nests in the boards
Of the patio, above the table,
And next to the barbecue.

Then came the poop. It was
Everywhere: on the patio tile,
The chairs, the table ..
Everywhere!

Then some of the birds
Turned mean. They would
Dive bomb me and try to
Peck me even though I had
Fed them out of my own
Pocket.

And others birds were
Boisterous and loud. They
Sat on the feeder and
Squawked and screamed at
All hours of the day and night
And demanded that I fill it
When it got low on food.

After a while, I couldn't even
Sit on my own back porch
Anymore. So I took down the
Bird feeder and in three days
The birds were gone. I cleaned
Up their mess and took down
The many nests they had built
All over the patio.

Soon, the back yard was like
It used to be .... Quiet, serene....
And no one demanding their
Rights to a free meal.

Now let's see.
Our government gives out
Free food, subsidized housing,
Free medical care and free
Education, and allows anyone
Born here to be an automatic
Citizen.

Then the illegal's came by the
Tens of thousands. Suddenly
Our taxes went up to pay for
Free services; small apartments
Are housing 5 families; you
Have to wait 6 hours to be seen
By an emergency room doctor;
Your child's second grade class is
Behind other schools because
Over half the class doesn't speak
English.

Corn Flakes now come in a
Bilingual box; I have to
'press one ' to hear my bank
Talk to me in English, and
People waving flags other
Than 'Old Glory' are
Squawking and screaming
In the streets, demanding
More rights and free liberties.

Just my opinion, but maybe
it's time for the government
To take down the bird feeder.

America just keeps cleaning up the poop ! ! ! !

The Nine-Bin Nightmare. . . .

According to jammiewearingfool.blogspot.com:

This is what happens when you let the eco-zealots run your lives. Just a small taste of our future.

Families are facing a nightmare future of recycling confusion.

In a regime set to spread across the country, residents are being forced to juggle an astonishing nine separate bins.

Wait, did they use the word regime? Oh, the horror!

There has already been a storm of protest with warnings that the scheme is too complex and homes simply don't have the space to deal with the myriad bins, bags and boxes.

The containers include a silver slopbucket for food waste, which is then tipped in to a larger, green outdoor food bin, a pink bag for plastic bottles, a green bag for cardboard, and a white bag for clothing and textiles.

Paper and magazines go in blue bags, garden waste in a wheelie bin with a brown lid, while glass, foil, tins and empty aerosols should go in a blue box, with a grey wheelie bin for non-recyclable waste.

The strict regulations have been introduced as councils come under growing pressure to cut the amount of household rubbish they send to landfill.

However, they go far beyond anything previously expected from householders and families.

Retired teacher Sylvia Butler is already being forced to follow the new rules.

She said: 'I'm all for recycling and used to help educate the kids about it during my geography classes but expecting us to cope with nine different bins and bags is asking too much.'

Pressure on councils to enforce recycling schemes includes rising taxes on everything they send to landfill and the threat of European Union fines if they fail to hit EU targets from 2013 onwards.

Compulsory recycling is commonly enforced by bin police who can impose £100 on-the-spot fines for breaches like overfilled wheelie bins, extra rubbish left out, or bins put out at the wrong time.

If people do not pay the fines, they can be taken to court, where they face increased penalties of £1,000 and criminal records.

Officials in Newcastle-under-Lyme in North Staffordshire anticipated trouble when they introduced the nine-bin system last month.

They had to publish step-by-step instructions on how to fold down a cardboard box so that it fits into the green bag.

The council also put a film on its web-site in which a recycling officer demonstrates how to put a tenth container - a biodegradable liner - into the slopbucket.

If you think this stuff will never happen here, just wait until the next generation of Al Gores start lecturing you.

Here's a taste.

Arizona Law -- It's About Jobs. . . .

According to Roy Beck at numbersusa.com:

I just came back from taping an interview for the national CBS nightly news regarding the new Arizona immigration-enforcement law.

My main point was that states are going to keep passing laws like these as long as the federal government allows 7 million illegal aliens to continue to hold construction, manufacturing, service and transportation jobs and keep millions of Americans unemployed.

I was asked about all the charges that the new law will create discrimination against people who look foreign.

My response was that the failure to push illegal aliens out of jobs and this country has created huge discrimination against the most vulnerable members of our society, disproportionately against Black Americans, Hispanic Americans and immigrants who are here legally. Laws like the one Arizona just passed will disproportionately help U.S. minorities, including legal immigrants.

These states are in the third year of a jobs depression. Immigration laws should be protecting Americans from being out of work because of foreign workers.

Instead, the federal government has refused to act. And the President of the United States repeatedly takes the side of the illegal aliens (and the companies that hire them) against the interests of unemployed Americans. In response to the Arizona law, Pres. Obama called again for giving 7 million illegal workers permanent work permits.

I told CBS that NumbersUSA is working with state legislators and activist groups across the country to enact laws like the ones passed in Arizona.

Obama Wants You To Prove To The Government That You Have Health Care, But Not That You’re A Citizen

According to Rob Port at sayanythingblog.com:

A good point, made by a Freeper.

Obama called Arizona’s new illegal immigration legislation “misguided” and suggested that it may violate civil rights laws. Yet, per the health care bill Obama signed into law, we all will have to report to the government via our tax returns what health coverage we have.

So rounding up illegal immigrants, who are here in contradiction with our laws, is anathema to Obama and not the appropriate function of government. But forcing citizens to report the status of their health care coverage is appropriate, and a fitting role for government.

I think someone has their priorities backward. How about the federal government allow us to worry about our health insurance coverage while they focus on doing their jobs with regard to illegal immigration?

Arizona Goes It Alone on Illegal Immigration. . . .

According to The MaryHunter at moonbattery.com:

According to Chris Chmielenski at numbersusa.com:

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer officially signed S.B.1070 into law this afternoon. The bill is the nation's toughest immigration enforcement bill, making it a crime in Arizona to be in the country illegally and cracking down on the hiring of day laborers and the transportation of illegal aliens.

Criticized by many, the bill is a perfect example of the frustration on the state level of the federal government's refusal to secure the borders and enforce the immigration laws already on the books.

------------------------------------------------

Arizona's new illegal immigration bill law is causing quite a stir among fans of illegal immigration amnesty and foes of "racial profiling" nationwide. President Obama referred to it as "misguided" and representing "irresponsibility" while a liberal Democrat Arizona lawmaker is actually encouraging a boycott of Arizona businesses, as a way to prevent other states from following suit. John "McAmnesty" McCain, on the other hand, has flip-flopped a bit on the issue as part of his brazen shift to the right in a tough re-election bid.

Newsy.com provides a collection of videos and a concise discussion of both sides of the debate, compiled from several cable news outlets.

So let's hear it Patriots and Prog Trolls: did Arizona go too far? Not far enough? Or, just nuke Mexico and be done with the problem once and for all? (Only kidding - blame Canada is what I meant.)

--------------------------------------------

A couple of bloggers wrote:

Not far enough. If the Feds won't do their job, then the States will have to do it for them.

Neighboring states can expect an influx of illegals.

I challenge anyone against this law, go to Iran, Russia, France, Cuba, Mexico, or any other country and protest their immigration laws. See how long you remain in their country.

-------------------------------------------

Throughout history a single event has triggered actions that has changed the course of history. . . .Rosa Parks refusing to move to the back of the bus. . . .The Buddhist monk lighting himself on fire in Vietnam. . . .The bombings of Pearl Harbor and the 9/11 attacks, etc. . . .

The murder of Robert Krentz, the Arizona rancher who was murdered by illegals earlier this year was the straw that broke the camels back. . . .The people of Arizona have decided if the government won't protect them they will pass laws to protect themselves. . . .

Will this single event finally wake up the rest of America and get the ball rolling to stop illegals from continuing to enter our country?

Our federal government has basically ignored the rapist, murderers, identity thieves, welfare and benefit grabbing, job stealing illegals. Our government wants you to believe that the illegals are here to make a better life for their families and to achieve the American dream. . . . .Yea Right. . . .tell that to Robert Krentz family! ! ! ! !

Feds Out Of Control Rampage Continues!…Plan To Regulate Salt In Our Diet. . . .

According to Tom Diemer at thebsreport.wordpress.com:

Feds Out Of Control Rampage Continues!…Plan To Regulate Salt In Our Diet

How much salt is too much in a daily diet? We’re going to find out. The Food and Drug Administration plans to determine what constitutes excess and eventually impose the first legal limits on the amount of salt in U.S. foods.

It’s not going to happen overnight. The FDA intends to consult with the food industry and health experts, and analyze salt in sauces, bread and other products over a period of years before deciding on legal limits, The Washington Post reported Tuesday. Excessive salt has been blamed for early deaths from heart disease and hypertension.

B.S. Report–By what authority does the national government have the right to regulate our salt intake? Show me that passage in the Constitution without bending beyond recognition the commerce or general welfare clauses. Of course, they don’t have the right but they just can’t keep themselves from butting into our lives in every possible arena.

Our government will stick their fingers in any pie if it means giving them more control over us. However, what they absolutely refuse to do is fulfill their actual duties as dictated to them under the Constitution.

The most important mandate of any President is to secure the country from those that will do us harm and keep the citizens safe here at home. Unfortunately, this is a very low priority on the Obama agenda. On the other hand, salt is just too dangerous for us to use without the government getting involved.

Food Prices Soar To Highest Level In 26 Years. . . .

According to thebsreport.wordpress.com:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Wholesale prices rose more than expected last month as food prices surged by the most in 26 years.

The Labor Department said the Producer Price Index rose by 0.7 percent in March, compared to analysts’ forecasts of a 0.4 percent rise. A rise in gas prices also helped push up the index.

Still, there was little sign of budding inflation in the report, which measures price changes before they reach the consumer. Excluding volatile food and energy costs, wholesale prices rose by 0.1 percent, matching analysts’ expectations.

Food prices jumped by 2.4 percent in March, the most since January 1984. Vegetable prices soared by more than 49 percent, the most in 15 years. A cold snap wiped out much of Florida’s tomato and other vegetable crops at the beginning of this year.

Gasoline prices rose 2.1 percent, the department said, the fifth rise in six months.

In the past year, wholesale prices are up 6 percent, with much of that increase driven by higher oil prices. But excluding food and energy costs, they have risen only 0.9 percent.

ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis Attacks Conservatives, Promotes Socialism. . . .WTF?

ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis:

"Any group that says, 'I'm young, I'm Democratic, and I'm a socialist,' is all right with me. You know that's no light thing to do -- to actually say, I'm a socialist -- because you guys know right now we are living in a time which is going to dwarf the McCarthy era. It is going to dwarf the internment during World War II. We are right now in a time that is going to dwarf the era of Jim Crow and segregation," Lewis said.

Tea Parties a 'Bowel Movement,' Future Will Be Worse Than Segregation

McCarthyism? Jim Crow? Segregation? Japanese internment?

Child's play. ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis says the times people are living in now will "dwarf" all those stains on America's history. And she points to the Tea Party movement -- or "bowel movement," in her words -- as a harbinger of the persecution to come.

"They are coming. And they are coming after you," the embattled head of ACORN said during a talk last month to the Young Democratic Socialists, the youth branch of the Democratic Socialists, the U.S. branch of the Socialist International.

During the address, Lewis praised the group's members for calling themselves socialists, and warned that undefined forces are plotting their doom.

"Earth Day" Reminder. . . .

Here is all you need to remember on Earth Day:

"As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease." Genesis 8:22

Earth Day 2010. . . .

"This is Earth Day and everybody's supposed to be environmentally conscious. So what happens? Obama and Biden fly separate jets to New York, go to different airports, and show up at events within blocks of each other." ~ Rush Limbaugh

----------------------------------------------

"They couldn't predict within hours where the wind was gonna take the ash cloud, and yet we are supposed to alter our lives because of what computer models say global climate temperatures are going to be in 50 years." ~ Rush Limbaugh

---------------------------------------------

Trivia:

The first Earth Day was celebrated exactly on Lenin's 100th birthday , April 22, 1970. . . .Now do you understand the connection?

--------------------------------------------

"Earth Day was created by a bunch of communists from Stanford. It's not about clean air; it's about power and what's going on to make money!" ~ Brian Sussman

It's appropriate that the two are celebrated on the same day, because there is no relevant difference between the socialist and environmentalist agendas in this country. Saving the environment is simply a euphemism for eviscerating the rights of property owners and creating a dictatorship. ~ David Ziemer -Wisconsin Law Journal

Deemed as a new holy day for the Marxist faith, Earth Day has been referred to as a political holiday for those pseudo-environmentalists known as Watermelons: green on the outside but red on the inside:

For many political Leftists, environmentalism is merely a pretext through which private property and capitalism can be regulated, strangled, and finally replaced with totalitarian government ownership of everything. How could they criticize Marxist dictatorships, since their prescription for "healing the world" is socialist dictatorship? ~ Lowell Ponte - Frontpage Mag

Will Americans Go to Mexico for Health Care?

Will Americans Go to Mexico for Health Care?

RUSH: Look at this, folks. San Diego, Union Tribune: "Rising medical needs in the United States are creating new opportunities for Mexico’s health care industry to serve a broad range of U.S. patients, from baby boomers to Southern California’s large Latino work force. But participants in a daylong conference Wednesday at the Institute of the Americas on the UC San Diego campus said that a range of legislative and regulatory changes are needed. The event drew health care experts, tourism officials, nonprofit groups, real estate promoters and others who see the potential for growth in cross-border care. With health care costs in Mexico available at a fraction of U.S. prices, Mexican facilities can help fill a growing demand for services including dentistry, surgery, long-term care and assisted living, advocates said. But providers still face hurdles, and one major step would be certifying private Mexican hospitals to U.S. standards so that older Americans could use their Medicare benefits in Mexico." (laughing) I mean, is this incredible! They were giving me grief about going to Costa Rica.

The Greeks Vastly Underreported Their Debt. . . .

RUSH: Guess what they've just done in Greece? They have just realized -- get this, now. They have just realized they underestimated the size of their debt by a whole whopping 2% of GDP, which is significant. It's even worse than they originally thought. Let me amend that: It's even worse than they originally said. They've known it all along, and now there are strikes. Everybody that's on a freeloader status over there -- teachers, doesn't matter -- are striking, promising all kinds of civil unrest. They've had decades of a welfare state, and now all of it's going to be taken away under austerity plans. You look over there and you might see a little microcosm of our future.

Martyred: 176,000 Christians Killed in 1 Year . . . .

According to Bob Unruh at worldnetdaily.com:

A new ministry partnership has launched a campaign to raise awareness of the fact that an estimated 176,000 Christians around the world were martyred – killed for their faith – in a one-year period from the middle of 2008 to the middle of 2009.

That’s 482 deaths per day, one every three minutes.

Emeal Zwayne, executive vice president of Living Waters, said that few Christians in the U.S. are even aware “that an estimated 176,000 Christians were martyred from mid-2008 to mid-2009.

“It’s so hard to believe that in this day and age so many Christians are losing their life for their faith. It’s as though we in the U.S. live in a different world from the rest of the Body of Christ,” he said. “We want to ask the question that is on a few people’s lips – will persecution ever come to America? And if so, what can we do about it?” he said.

----------------------------------------------

Lord, keep your protective hedge around all the "Christians" throughout the world.
