Political Correctness Run Amok Costs Juan Williams His Job at NPR

RUSH: I guess, folks, we just can't call 'em Muslims anymore because you can't say anything about Muslims. I mean if Juan Williams gets canned from NPR for being truthfully honest, open about -- well, we're going to have to start calling 'em Middle Eastern liberals. Yeah, a friend of mine sent me that suggestion. No longer call 'em Muslim. The Middle Eastern liberals today stoned a woman in Iran. The Middle Eastern liberals today plotted a plan to blow up buildings in Karachi.

Let me remind you of something that our president, Imam Obama, said once. "The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn't. But she is a typical white person who, uh, if she sees somebody on the street she doesn't know, there's a reaction that's been bred into her, our experiences, that don't go away, sometimes come out in the wrong way and that's just the nature of race in our society. We have to break through it." So it was okay for Obama to say she was a typical white person, his grandmother, 'cause she gets afraid of black guys on the street. It's okay for Obama to say that 'cause he wasn't saying it on NPR. Well, he probably said it on NPR but he was not employed by NPR. Here's what Juan said, by the way. This is Monday night on Ted Baxter's (Bill O'Reilly) show.

WILLIAMS: Political correctness can lead to some kind of paralyses where you don't address reality. I'm not a bigot. You know the books I have written about the civil rights movement in this country, but when I get on a plane, I gotta tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think they're identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried, I get nervous. Now, I remember also that when the Times Square bomber was in court, I think this was just last week, he said the war with Muslims, America's war with Muslims, is just beginning, the first drop of blood. I don't think there's any way to get away from these facts.

Rush quotes on Juan Williams:

"Juan Williams is a known quantity, and he's essentially been Clarence Thomased, in a sense, for voicing an opinion that is contrary to the doctrine. It will be interesting to see if the Reverend Jackson and Reverend Sharpton let this go by in silence."

"I guess, folks, we just can't call them Muslims anymore. I mean, if Juan Williams gets canned from NPR for being honest, well, we're going to have to start calling them Middle Eastern liberals."

Have the liberals gone totally insane. . . .Anybody in their right mind ought to be fearful when they get on a plane and "see people who are in muslim garb". . . .I know I'd probably piss my pants if I heard one holler "allah akbar". . . . .

BTW. . . .muslims themselves ought to be afraid when they "see people who are in muslim garb" it seems like on a weekly basis we read where some muslim suicide bomber has blown up a mosque or some other muslim business. . . .
