Government Lets House Burn Down. . . .

According to Van Helsing at moonbattery.com:

Why not trust government to seize control of the healthcare industry? We trust it to put out fires, don't we?

A local neighborhood is furious after firefighters watched as an Obion County, Tennessee, home burned to the ground.

The homeowner, Gene Cranick, said he offered to pay whatever it would take for firefighters to put out the flames, but was told it was too late. They wouldn't do anything to stop his house from burning.

Each year, Obion County residents must pay $75 if they want fire protection from the city of South Fulton. But the Cranicks did not pay.

The mayor said if homeowners don't pay, they're out of luck.

A private company would put out the fire promptly and then send Cranick a bill with a surcharge. To do otherwise would invite a public relations disaster. But the arrogance of our bureaucratic rulers grows with their power. Many are already too arrogant to worry about public relations disasters — or ObamaCare never would have been rammed through Congress by legislative trickery in open opposition to the public will.

Now how "f''d" up is this? I guarantee if they had called 911 and couldn't speak English the fire department would have rushed over there and put out that fire. . . .Does this podunk area have a fee for the police too? If you are having a home invasion would the police not respond if their "fee" wasn't paid?

Hold on a second.. this is like saying I do not want health insurance until I am sick. The $75 was insurance, if they put the fire out nobody would pay the $75. be consistent.

What BULLSHIT. . . .If the doctor is staring you in the face and you are having a heart attack they have to treat you. . . .These chickenshit firefighters stood there and watched this families home and pets burn to the ground.

I am a volunteer firefighter. We don't work for pay, if there's a fire we PUT IT OUT! Period. I don't understand why these firemen didn't put the fire out but I can tell you my brothers and I would have. Screw the tax men right is right! I am ashamed of those firefighters.

There is a big debate going on over this incident. . . .If you paid your fee and your neighbor doesn't and they still put out your neighbors fire then you are basically bailing them out. . . .I can see both sides of this issue, but I'm leaning toward the side of putting out the fire as the #1 objective. There are many options that could be enforced afterward such as fine or even putting a lean on their property. They could also do away with the $75.00 fee all together and then you could pay as you use the service.

This homeowner was negligent by not paying the $75.00 fee, but whatever happened to honor and duty to your fellow man?
